With multiple legitimate contenders, the EPL title race sets up as a compelling futures market — giving bettors a chance to lock in value before the season begins.
So, how is the Premier League title picture shaping up? Here’s what you need to know.
Overview
Last season, Liverpool reclaimed the Premier League title with a 25-win campaign, edging past Arsenal and Manchester City in a competitive 2024-25 race. Mohamed Salah was named EPL Player of the Season after leading the Reds to 84 points, finishing with nine draws and just four losses. Arsenal took second place with 74 points, thanks to a disciplined defensive effort and just four defeats, while City settled for third at 71 points behind a more erratic season marked by nine losses.
Despite finishing outside the top two, Manchester City remained competitive, while Arsenal’s young core gained valuable experience in another title chase. Liverpool’s return to the top signaled a potential shift in the league’s balance of power, and the 2024-25 EPL season delivered a strong setup for what’s shaping up to be a wide-open 2025-26 title race.
EPL Title
The EPL title is awarded annually to the club that finishes first in the league table after a 38-match regular season. The EPL features 20 clubs, each playing every other team twice (once at home and once away) for a total of 38 matches per club. Teams earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss.
The league champion is the club with the highest point total at the end of the season. If teams are level on points, goal difference and goals scored are used as tiebreakers. There is no postseason or playoff — the title is determined solely by regular season performance.

Preseason Club Spotlights
Liverpool (+185)
Liverpool claimed the 2024-25 Premier League title with a commanding 84-point season, returning to the top under new manager Arne Slot. Taking over for Jürgen Klopp in June 2024, Slot quickly put his stamp on the squad, maintaining Liverpool’s high-pressing identity while tightening up defensively. Mohamed Salah led the charge with an MVP season, and the core of the title-winning team remains intact heading into 2025-26.
Manchester City (+220)
The defending treble winners from two seasons ago slipped to third place in 2024-25, but Manchester City still carries elite firepower. Pep Guardiola’s tactical brilliance and squad depth remain unmatched, with Phil Foden continuing to emerge as a top-tier playmaker. A shaky back line and inconsistent form cost them last year, but City is rarely off the pace for long.
Arsenal (+250)
Arsenal took another step forward last season, finishing second with just four losses. Mikel Arteta’s young squad continues to mature, combining elite defensive structure with one of the league’s most balanced midfields. While they fell short of the title, their consistency and depth were clear signs of a team on the rise. With a few summer reinforcements, they’ll be in the mix again.
Newcastle United (+1200)
Newcastle pushed into top-four contention again last season and remain one of the most ambitious clubs in Europe. Backed by heavy investment and a dynamic front line, they have the talent to challenge, but questions remain about squad depth and experience over a full title run. Still, few teams can match their ceiling when firing on all cylinders.
Chelsea (+2100)
Chelsea’s rebuild took strides in 2024-25, but a title run may still be a season away. Young talent like Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernández flashed promise, and the club’s massive investment in youth is starting to show returns. Defensive lapses and inconsistency remain concerns, but the foundation is solid and the ceiling is rising.
