Each year, the odds board features a mix of top draft picks expected to start immediately, versatile playmakers who can fill multiple roles, and under-the-radar prospects with high upside potential.
So, how is the NFL OROY race shaping up? Here’s what you need to know.
Overview
Jayden Daniels won Offensive Rookie of the Year last season – but it was the Philadelphia Eagles who defeated Daniels and the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship before they romped to glory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. Now it’s a new year, and the latest Bovada odds show a wide-open race for the 2025 award.
OROY Award
The NFL OROY award recognizes the top-performing rookie on the offensive side of the ball in each NFL season. The award is determined by a vote conducted by the Associated Press at the end of the regular season. A panel of 50 national sportswriters and broadcasters each cast one vote. Only regular-season performance is considered (playoffs have no impact).

Preseason Player Spotlights
Ashton Jeanty (+280)
Ashton Jeanty dominated college football in 2024, rushing for 2,497 yards and 29 touchdowns at Boise State. The 2024 Maxwell Award winner averaged 7.0 yards per carry and was a Heisman finalist, proving he’s ready for the next level.
Now a first-round pick for the Raiders, Jeanty enters the 2025 season as the odds-on favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year at +280. Joining a rebuilding offense with new QB Geno Smith and weapons like Jakobi Meyers and Brock Bowers, his ability to break big runs and catch passes gives Las Vegas a much-needed spark.
Tetairoa McMillan (+1400)
Tetairoa McMillan was one of college football’s top receivers in 2024, hauling in 84 catches for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns despite Arizona’s struggling season. His size and ability to win contested catches made him a nightmare for defenders, highlighted by a 300-yard, four-touchdown game against New Mexico.
Now with the Carolina Panthers, McMillan enters the 2025 season as a +1400 contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year. He’s set to be the primary target for QB Bryce Young in a passing game that desperately needs a deep threat and red-zone weapon. McMillan’s presence could be key to Carolina’s offensive turnaround.
Shedeur Sanders (+2800)
Shedeur Sanders had one of the most talked-about college seasons in 2024, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 36 touchdowns at Colorado. Many expected him to go early in the 2025 draft, ranked as the second-best QB behind Cam Ward. But surprisingly, he fell all the way down to the fifth round.
The Cleveland Browns picked Sanders with the 144th overall pick, offering him a chance to prove the doubters wrong. Known for turning teams around quickly – at both Colorado and Jackson State – Sanders arrives in Cleveland highly motivated and ready to make an impact. He enters the 2025 season at +2800 odds for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
