The following post explores how to use parlay cards at the casino sportsbook.

Parlay cards are a bit like the lottery. With $2 minimums and big payouts, bettors can potentially strike it big. For instance, a $2 wager at 600:1 odds pays $1,200 (when you go 10-for-10).

Most casino sportsbooks offer parlay cards. This post explores the different types of parlay cards, payout tables, and general tips and observations. Here’s everything you need to know.

General Overview

Depending on the time of season and sportsbook you’re visiting, parlay cards are typically found in ample supply with multiple variations (as depicted below). Parlay cards involve combining multiple selections into a single wager. The minimum number of selections on a parlay card is three. The maximum number is typically 10-15 selections.

Here is a rundown of a few of the most commonly found types of parlay cards offered.

1/2 Point Parlay CardGuide to Parlay Cards - Square Bettor

1/2 Point parlay cards include half-point odds only, thus eliminating potential ties. This card offers higher payouts than the Ties Win parlay card, because it’s harder to pick winning selections when games can’t end in a push.

Ties Win Parlay Card

Ties Win parlay cards exclude half-point spreads. This means ties are possible and in such an event, you win. It pays slightly lower odds than normal, but this small edge can often be the difference between winning and losing.

Teaser Parlay Card

Teaser parlay cards offer adjusted point spreads. For instance, the upcoming Las Vegas Raiders game is +3 (no teaser) and the teaser line is +11. Teaser odds are obviously favorable to normal ones and therefore have lower payouts.

1st Half Parlay Card

1st Half parlay cards offer lines for a part of the game, instead of the entire game. This variation is particularly popular for NFL and NCAAF games as well as NBA and NCAAB games. Some bettors prefer only betting on the first half and this option makes it possible.

Parlay Card Payouts

It’s honestly too confusing to chart out how this all works and I’m bad at math. Here are odds tables for the four types of parlay cards listed in this article.

Making Your First Parlay Card WagerParlay Bubble Sheet - Square Bettor

Making a parlay card wager is easy. Winning is the hard part!

Simply make your selections using the parlay card form. It’s similar to a scantron test in grade school. Use a #2 pencil to make your picks by bubbling in the corresponding numbers for your selections.

In this example, I picked six games by selecting each betting number and bubbling in the corresponding number. You don’t have to circle the numbers at the top, I just like to do it this way. The form has a perforated edge to detach from the lines portion of the parlay card.

When ready to place your wager, approach the betting counter and present the bubbled selections along with your players card and money. After your wager is processed, it’s important to check your ticket for accuracy as human error is possible when your selections are being inputted.

In Conclusion

Parlay cards are fun for daydreaming about hitting it big. However, it’s important to remember that multi-team parlays are incredibly hard to win. Next time you have multiple games in mind and want to combine them into a big payout, this might be a good betting tool for you.
